This Monday, Prince Harry paid an emotional tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and thanked her for the time he gets to spend with his grandmother, who has died at the age of 96. Harry also said that he would honor his father as the new king of the United Kingdom.
In a statement, Harry, who stepped down from royal office along with wife Meghan in 2020, praised the Queen’s service as head of state and monarch and praised her role as a grandmother.
“Grandma, even though this last goodbye brings us great sadness, I am eternally grateful for all of our first encounters, from my earliest childhood memories with you to the moment you first met my dear wife and hugged your dear great-grandchildren.” , wrote in a note. “Thank you for all these shared moments. I already miss you, the whole world already misses you.”
After Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal positions, they walked away from family, including the now King Charles, and criticized Buckingham Palace and the way it was treated.
“Now we are honoring my father in his new role as King Charles III,” he added.
