“This is not football, this is inhumane”: Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior posted a video with racist insults to fans

Real Madrid’s Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior this Monday asked fans and clubs to be punished for racist acts and claimed the incidents took place in several Spanish cities, posting a video of insults targeted at him.

“Every game away from home was a nasty surprise. And this season there were a lot of them. Wishes for death, a hanging doll, many screams of criminals… Everything is recorded. But speech always falls into “isolated cases”, “fan”. No, these are not isolated cases. These are continuous episodes scattered over several cities in Spain,” the footballer said in a message on the social network, noting that this also happened on the TV program.

At the Mestalla stadium in Valencia on Sunday, Vinicius, who was sent off after attacking an opponent at the very end of the match (90 + 7), in which the Merengue lost 1-0, criticized the Spanish League and supporters with a message published in social networks condemning new acts of racism.

Vinicius, 22, has been the target of several racist slurs and other offenses in recent months, and on Monday the player released a video showing what happened at several stadiums and is demanding punishment.

In about an hour, the video has already gained more than one and a half million likes, in addition to numerous messages in support of the player.

“What is missing to criminalize these people? And punish the clubs in a sporting manner? Why don’t sponsors charge La Liga? Didn’t TV bother to broadcast this barbarity every weekend?” the Brazilian football player asks.

The striker, one of the main figures of the Spaniards at Real Madrid, notes that this is a “very serious problem” and that it cannot be solved with a communiqué or accusing the player of “justifying criminal acts.”

“This is not football, this is inhuman,” he concludes.

The situation, denounced by “Vini” Junior, sparked several reactions from FIFA to the governments of Brazil and Spain, when a Spanish court announced the opening of an investigation into racist insults aimed at the Brazilian.

Real Madrid have also revealed that they have filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office “for hate crimes and discrimination” against the Canarinho international.
