Biden calls for action on gun control one year after Uvalda massacre

US President Joe Biden marked this Wednesday the first anniversary of the massacre at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, where he said it was “time to act” on gun control in the country.

“It’s time to act. It’s time to make our voices heard. Not as Democrats or Republicans. But as friends, neighbors, parents… as compatriots,” Biden said to family and friends mourning the loss. children and two teachers were shot dead last year at an elementary school in Texas.

“I know progress has been difficult for a long time, but there will come a point when our voices will be so loud, our resolve will be so clear that it can no longer be stopped. We will act,” he urged.
