“Vito” says he used drugs on the sly and that Sonia de Jesus knew nothing

Vitor Soares, one of the defendants in the Cementes em Po case, denied any involvement in the drug trafficking ring he is accused of in a Braganca court on Monday.

The lawsuit began this Monday and “Vito”, as he is known, claimed that the cocaine he had at home was for consumption only. “It’s all lies. The cocaine I had was intended for use,” Vitor said.

The defendant wept in front of the panel of judges, showing regret, and said that he used the drug to endure the night hours of work as a security guard.

About Sonia de Jesus, a former reality TV contestant big Brother, the defendant testified that he did not know anything. Vitor Soares explained that he did everything in secret from his wife.

As for Amilcar Teixeira, father of another former competitor big Brother and charged in the process, Vito said that the meetings between the two led to him being delivered five liters of oil. According to the prosecution, olive oil was one of the codes used by the defendants in this drug trafficking network.

Vito, who was arrested about a year ago, also realized that he was receiving psychological support in prison.

The trial involved five defendants, but one of the defendants died in Braganza prison, where he was in preventive detention awaiting trial. There are currently three men and one woman in the dock, aged 33 to 56, accused of crimes related to drug trafficking, possession of illegal weapons, and trafficking and brokering of weapons.
