The Benfica team, along with the coach and other members of the club, went up to the balcony of the City Hall. Emotions were visible on the part of some players, namely Alejandro Grimaldo, who leaves the team after eight years of playing for the Eagles.
The players, the coach and the president greeted the fans and showed the trophy. At one point, Rui Costa asked everyone to raise their scarves while singing a hymn to the eagles.
“We are a family, we are a single voice,” said the Benfica president.

Rui Costa began by saying he “humbly thanks” for being invited to the Lisbon Chamber after Benfica became national champions, four years after the last title.
