Strikes organized by Plataforma Sindical and the Union of All Educational Professionals (STOP) at the end of the assessment meetings at the end of the school year threaten student grades. Class councils begin on Friday for the final assessment of years of study that have exams (9, 11 and 12) and strike compliance may result in classifications being awarded.
In the event of a STOP strike, the Arbitration Panel has already set minimum services only for meetings related to the 12th year evaluation. The decision may be identical in the case of strikes marked by the trade union platform. It is for this reason that in other years, banknotes can be blocked if strikes are strictly enforced.
“The biggest restriction is in 9th and 11th grade, the years of GCSE and exams, when grading requires more urgency,” said Filinto Lima of the National Association of Group and Public School Directors. The “war” in education knows a new chapter on Tuesday with the teachers’ strike scheduled to platform on 6/6/23, hinting at six years, six months and 23 days of service to recover. At 10:30 a demonstration in Porto and at 15:30 in Lisbon.
