The English press reported this Wednesday that Pedro Gonçalves is on Arsenal’s radar and could be the Gunners’ main force this season.
The winger, often deployed as an attacking midfielder by Amorim, made his mark in England with a hat-trick that eventually saw the Lions go into penalties and knock Arsenal out of the Europa League. The goal, a candidate for the Puskas award (best goal of the year), convinced the British.
Despite a contract until 2026 and an £80m release clause, Arsenal are not worried and believe they can close the deal.
Thus, the Gunners are in the race for the winger, who is also coveted by Aston Villa. Considered one of the team’s heavyweights, Ruben Amorim, the Lions are trying to buy another 40% pot pass from Famalicao for €8m to keep 90%.
In negotiations with Famalicao, the lions are trying to include the purchase of Spaniard Ivan Jaime for 6 million euros. It’s just that Malaga still owns 25% of the 22-year-old forward’s passes.
