Francisco J. Marquez “did what is called information manipulation,” the judge says.
“At stake is the crime of violating the rules of telecommunications. And the behavior of the defendant Francisco Marquez in disclosing the emails in question falls under this type of crime,” the judge said.
The judge acknowledges that this is a “compilation of messages” that will be released with the cooperation of Diogo Faria.
“Defendant Francisco Marquez committed what is called manipulation of information.”
Nuno Costa explains that it was through the Porto Canal Universo Porto da Bancada program that Francisco J. Marquez created “an environment in which Benfica adhered to certain practices, such as priests and masses.”
Which “subsequently created the conditions for Benfica to adhere to certain practices,” he adds.
The judge acquitted the defendants in the case of violation of correspondence between Carlos Deus Pereira and Adao Mendez
“Unlike other situations in which the greatest difficulty lies in proving, in establishing the facts, here the opposite happened. The matter is extensive. But the essence of the matter is in the processes. The emails were being read in the process,” he starts by saying.
Nuno Costa mentions that Luis Bernardo admitted that a team was set up to track the emails.
The judge says that he will only “provide the main lines” since there are no defendants. Francisco and Diogo Faria “confirmed the participation of each of them in the process. They provided details on how everything was handled,” he says.
Nuno Costa cites assistants in the case. As for Carlos Deus Pereira: “Knowing that the emails have been deleted from Benfica’s servers and that he is the sender, he is not offended in this case.”
Regarding Adao Mendez: “You link to some emails without specifying if you were the sender or not. The defendants must be acquitted for breach of correspondence regarding Carlos Deus Pereira and Adao Mendez.”
