Spanish rider Jorge Martin (Ducati) won the German MotoGP Grand Prix this Sunday, the seventh race of the season, in a race in which Portugal’s Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) finished 10th.
Oliveira crossed the line 19.648 seconds back from the winner, Italy’s Francesco Bagna (Ducati) was second, half a bike back, 0.064 seconds, and France’s Johann Zarco (Ducati) was third, 7.013.
Thus, Jorge Martin became the second rider to repeat the victory achieved in Saturday’s sprint on Sunday, equaling Francesco Bagnaia.
It was the Madrid rider’s second victory at the MotoGP World Championship on Sunday after his debut at the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix.
The first race leader was Australian Jack Miller (KTM), who quickly handed over the command to Francesco Bagnaia. Meanwhile, Miguel Oliveira finished the first round in 12th place before falling back to 13th.
On lap three, Jorge Martin took the lead and began to build up a comfortable lead, looking to emulate the strategy that won him Saturday’s sprint.
But this time Bagnaya managed to recover and reach the last laps in the footsteps of the leader.
Miguel Oliveira managed to move up two positions, later reaching 10th after falling South African Brad Binder (KTM) when he was third.
Binder still visited the Sachsenring district clinic, but nothing was found.
At the entrance to the last lap, Bagnaya tried to overtake Jorge Martin, but ended up hitting the rear wheel of the Madrid’s Ducati with the front of his bike and losing a few meters, which proved to be decisive.
