GNR soldiers in Guarda have detained a 41-year-old man for possession of a prohibited weapon in a domestic violence case in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Coa, as announced this Thursday.
The security service said in a statement that, after investigating domestic violence, the NPR military determined that the aggressor used physical and psychological violence against the victim, his 56-year-old partner.
According to the GNR, during the police actions it was also possible to establish that the detainee had several weapons and ammunition.
“In the course of police investigations, two search warrants were executed, namely, one in a house and one in a vehicle, during which prohibited weapons and ammunition were found, which led to the arrest of the person.
During the action, two flare pistols, three daggers, an air pistol, an automatic razor and various types of ammunition were confiscated.
The detainee was charged and the facts were referred to the Judicial Court of Vila Nova de Foz Coa.
