The security service announced on Thursday that a 57-year-old man, whom the GNR is investigating on suspicion of growing cannabis in the municipality of Guarda, has been arrested and prosecuted.
“As part of the investigation, the military guards discovered farmland with signs of a cannabis plantation,” the PPR Guards Territorial Command, which arrived through the local Criminal Investigation Core (NIC) to apprehend the alleged grower on Wednesday, said in a statement.
According to the memo, “the police steps were taken to establish the owner of the land and, subsequently, to conduct a search at his place of residence.”
“The action ended with the confiscation of 10.5 kg of cannabis plants and the arrest of the suspect”, who was named defendant, and the GNR reported the facts to the Judicial Court of Guarda.
