Rush became “the world’s youngest jet pilot” when he graduated as a captain at the United Airlines Jet Training Institute in 1981, at the age of 19, according to the Titanic expedition manager OceanGate website.
Wendy Rush is the great-great-granddaughter of tycoon couple Isidor Strauss and Ida, two of the richest people to die in the Titanic tragedy. The Stockton Rush woman is OceanGate’s director of communications and has already led three expeditions to the crash site in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
OceanGate is headquartered in Everett, Washington, USA and is the company responsible for visiting the Titanic wreck. The company has successfully completed more than 14 expeditions and more than 200 dives in the Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.
