A 30-year-old man died today in Melides, municipality of Grandola (Setúbal), as a result of a collision with a car he was driving, a fire department source told Lusa.
A source from the Alentejo Sub-Regional Command Litoral explained that the accident occurred on the national road 261, “near the transition to Melides beach”, in the municipality of Grandola.
At 20:08, an alarm was raised about the inspection of a car, and the ambulance and resuscitation doctor pronounced the victim dead on the spot.
A source from the Grandola Volunteer Fire Department told Lusa that after skidding, the car hit a pine tree on the side of the road and the driver was thrown out of the car.
Volunteer firefighter units of Santo André, VMER and GNR were on site.
