Several American television networks broadcast an audio recording in which former President Donald Trump admits that he had secret documents after leaving the White House, and, apparently, shows them to outsiders.
In an audio recording that was recorded in June 2021 during a conversation with a writer and editor who was preparing a book about his former chief of staff, Trump discusses allegations by former chief of staff Mark Milley accused of wanting to attack Iran. To prove that it was the Pentagon who wanted to attack Iran, and not him, Trump shows a “completely confidential” document. “This is classified information, the military gave it to me. When I was president, I could disqualify this. Not anymore, it’s still a secret,” he says.
The footage, which is part of a criminal case against the former president but has never been made public, contradicts Trump’s assurances that he did not have any classified documents, as well as what he said in a recent interview. Fox Newswhen he assured that he limited himself to showing “newspaper and magazine clippings.”
