The amount of IRS refunds has reached almost 2.7 million taxpayers and amounts to 2.6 billion euros, with IRS Jovem returns seven times higher than in 2020, the finance minister said on Wednesday.
The figures were announced by Fernando Medina at a hearing before the Commission on Budget and Finance (COF) in Parliament.
“This means that in the same period last year, another 171,286 refunds were issued, which is more than 111 million more than was known in the previous year,” the minister said.
Fernando Medina also noted an increase in the number of IRS Jovem declarations filed this year.
According to the official, 69,527 declarations of this type were filed, “which is almost twice as many as were filed in 2021” and “nearly seven times as many as were entered in 2020 – 10,243 declarations.”
“For example, for a young person with an annual income of 14,000 euros, we are talking about annual savings in the first year of 966 euros, and the total savings over this period is more than 3,200 euros,” he said. indicated.
The filing of the annual IRS return on income received in 2022 began on April 1 and ends on June 30.
