According to civil protection, the fires that broke out this afternoon in a forested area in the Agueda district and in a bushy area in Santa Catarina da Serra in the municipality of Leiria are nearing completion.
According to the Sub-Regional Command of Leiria, the forest fire in Quinta da Sardinha in Santa Catarina da Serra, which was reported to the authorities at around 17:07, entered the stage of completion around 20:30.
According to the civil protection page, 73 operators are still on site, supported by 24 vehicles.
This fire involved 145 operators and five aircraft.
The woodland fire near Segadains and Lamas do Vouga in Agueda, which started almost simultaneously with the fire in Leiria, also entered its final phase early in the night with 97 firefighters on the scene supported by 29 vehicles.
