Taxpayers who have not yet filed their 2022 IRS return must complete this return obligation by this Friday.
The data available on the Financial Portal shows that 5,788,545 IRS returns have already been filed, 3,634,187 of which are from people who received income only from categories A (dependent work) and H (pensions), and 2,154,358 from other types , namely income category B (self-employed). employed), capital gains or real estate, for example.
The IRS filing deadline is especially relevant for taxpayers who are not covered by the automatic IRS, as for them, the provisional declaration made by the Revenue and Customs (AT) becomes final at the end of the period and is considered ‘delivered’.
The latest figures published by the Ministry of Finance show that the value of refunds already processed is 2.6 million euros, covering about 2.7 million taxpayers.
Under current law, AT has until July 31st to proceed with the liquidation of delivered declarations, although most of them have already been paid, with reimbursement until August 31st.
For those who owe tax (because the withholding tax they paid in 2022 was not enough or because they have non-withholdable income), the deadline to pay this payment is also August 31st.
