Russia said on Tuesday that Ukraine had attacked Moscow with at least five drones on civilian infrastructure, including an airport in Moscow, Reuters reported.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the incident a “terrorist act.”
“An attempt by the Kyiv regime to attack an area where civilian infrastructure is located, including an airport that also receives foreign flights, is another terrorist attack,” Zakharova wrote on Telegram.
Several drones attacked Moscow and the region, temporarily disrupting flights at the large Vnukovo airport.
Landings and takeoffs at Vnukovo were limited for several hours. Several flights from Russia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt were diverted.
According to the statement, air defense systems destroyed four drones, and the fifth blocked and crashed.
There are no reports of casualties or damage from the “terrorist attack,” the ministry said.
