Unemployment drops in November and places the Basque Country at the lowest figure since January 2009

Specifically, 1,034 people have found work in the last month in the CAV. In contrast, Navarra has registered a slight rise (0.70%). In total, 142,203 people are unemployed in Hego Euskal Herria.

Unemployment in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) he has descended in 1034 people during this month of November (a drop of 0.93% compared to October), reaching 110,710 unemployed people, which places Euskadi in the lowest figure since January 2009according to data provided by the Basque Public Employment Service, Lanbide.

On the contrary, Navarre has registered a slight rise (0.70%) in the number of unemployed, which has grown by 218 people. In any case, and according to the data provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, the number of unemployed in the Foral Community was lower in November than it was a year ago by 209 people, 0.66% lower.

In total, 142,203 people are unemployed in Hego Euskal Herria. By province, Álava registered a greater fall, with a decrease of 1.65%; followed by Bizkaia (0.95%), and finally, Gipuzkoa with a drop of 0.39%). As we mentioned, unemployment has grown in Navarra, albeit slightly (0.70%).

In the set of Spanish state Unemployment has fallen by 33,512 people, to a total of 2,881,380 unemployed, which constitutes the lowest total number of unemployed in a month of November since 2007 and is part of an “adverse” economic situation on the international scene.

Indefinite hiring rises in the Basque Country

Also noteworthy is the good trend observed in the indefinite hiring of the CAV, which has stood at 25.3% of the total. In November, 65,068 new contracts were signed, of which 16,447 were of an indefinite nature. Compared to November 2021, and despite the fact that hiring has stabilized since the labor reform and, therefore, its overall volume has reduced, permanent contracts have increased by 52%.
