GNR seized 380 liters of brandy worth four thousand euros in Fafe, Braga district, on Tuesday, police said on Friday.
The GNR statement said that in addition to this seizure, a 47-year-old man was also charged.
As part of the fraudulent introduction investigation, which lasted about two months, the military conducted searches of the distillery and warehouse.
At the same time, the military discovered brandy stored in a place not authorized by the customs authority, thus “avoiding” the tax obligation to declare and pay the taxes received, he said.
“The value of the seized cognac is four thousand euros, and its illegal commercialization would cause damage to the state in the amount of about five thousand euros,” GNR stressed.
GNR also confiscated an alembic consisting of two copper columns.
