Spanish minister wants to give grants of 20,000 euros to young people when they turn 18

Spain’s Labor Minister Yolanda Diaz this week proposed a €20,000 grant for the country’s young people turning 18. The purpose of the measure, called “Universal Heritage”, is to guarantee equal opportunity and support learning and learning.

Yolanda Diaz, a member of the Spanish Communist Party and a candidate for the leadership of the Sumar Party, explained this Wednesday that the initiative aims to give young people the opportunity to have a future without being limited by their social conditions.

“We are proposing that people can receive 20,000 euros when they turn 18 so that they can develop, whether by studying or starting a business (…) This is a redistributive measure that will allow young people in our country to have a future regardless of such they have a nickname,” said the minister, quoted by the Spanish press.

This measure will cost the Spanish state about ten billion euros.
