Arsenal have contacted FC Porto’s SAD for information about Mehdi Taremi. According to information released by the Iranian press, the 30-year-old striker was the subject of a preliminary appeal in the context of strengthening the London team for the new season.
The fact that Taremi had been the top scorer in the Portuguese league the previous season caught the attention of the market and many clubs began to conduct polls for the Iranian international. The list is long and includes emblems of several leagues, namely English, French, Italian and, of course, Saudi Arabia, the trendy direction of the football business.
The approaches immediately run into the conditions that FC Porto imposes on the release of the player: at least 20-25 million euros, and he is protected by a release clause of 60 million euros. There has already been talk of Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia)’s excellent offer of 35 million, but Taremi wants to stay in Europe for now. He has a contract with Porto, which is valid until the end of next season.
