A firefighter from the Fafe Corporation, who was arrested last Tuesday on suspicion of starting eleven forest fires within a month, will be awaiting trial in a Fafe jail.
A 31-year-old man works on the night shift of the Fafe Volunteer Fire Department. The Judicial Police of Braga also confiscated the detainee’s laptop. The arrest follows an investigation that began last year.
“As a result of the actions taken, a person, aged 31, by profession a firefighter, was identified, who, out of revenge, used a personal vehicle, as a rule, after leaving the service or the days in which he was on vacation. committed numerous arsons in rural and forest areas,” the Judicial Police said in a statement.
