Remember the wedding dress that went viral online in 2015, sparking a global discussion about its true colors – black and blue or white and gold? The costume was worn by the bride’s mother at her daughter’s marriage to Keir Johnston. A 38-year-old man is suspected of attempted murder of his companion. Mirror.
Appearing in Glasgow High Court this Monday, Keir is charged with domestic violence against his partner for nearly 11 years and coercive control that led to the attempted murder of a woman.
Between April 2019 and March 2022, the perpetrator pushed the victim against a wall. The man screamed and strangled her, and then threatened to kill her with a knife.
Keir Johnston also allegedly attempted to break into the car the woman was in by hitting her through the car’s open window. The indictment says the suspect dragged the victims out of the bar by their hair after she refused to date him.
Other allegations say the attacker isolated the woman from her friends and monitored her movements and finances, controlling the money she had access to.
Johnston’s behavior will culminate in a new accusation that on March 6, 2022, he pinned a woman to the ground and sat on her.
The 38-year-old denies all charges against him and the case will go to a new pre-trial hearing in 2024.
