ELA denounces the “nationalization” of the working conditions of the employees of the large clothing chains

ELA has concentrated in Madrid and they have convened strike in the large textile chains of Euskadi against the “nationalization” promoted by the bosses ARTE. The incidence of the strike has been noted, above all, in the Álava shopswhere Oysho, Bershka, Zara home, Intimissimi, Woman secret, Mayoral, Tezenis, Cortf, Spf, or Pepe jeans, among others, have closed.

The trade union center has carried out these demonstrations coinciding with the first meeting of the unions and the employer’s association ARTEmade up of large clothing store chains, held in Madrid.

ELA has signed that behind this initiative is Inditexalong with other large chains such as H&M, Primark and Mango, which make up the employers’ association ARTE and with said agreement “intend to state the working conditions of Hego Euskal Herria“.

The unions ELA, CIG and OSTA have denounced that, “with the nationalization they intend to worsen the provincial agreements of the textile sector.” For this reason, these trade union centrals have concentrated in Madrid and ELA has called a strike in Euskadi in the large clothing chains of Euskal Herria.

ELA has denounced that ARTE’s claim is centralize collective bargaining through “a single state agreement, leaving out of the provincial agreements the workers who provide services in these large chains.” In his opinion, this initiative will entail the “loss of labor rights” for the workers of Hego Euskal Herria.
