Unions THE A, independent, ESK and CGTmajority of the Standing Committee on Euskotrenthey have called strikes this Thursday in this transport to protest the lack of personnel and in demand of more contracts.
The strikes, which will affect some 50,000 users, will take place during the hours between 07:00-09:00 and 18:00-20:00 in all the services provided by the company in the CAV (railway, tram, bus and funicular).
In a communiqué, the convening centrals denounced that the “lack of planning and of hiring of personnel” cause more than 25% of the daily services of stations to be left uncovered, that there is no service en route, the hours of excesses from previous years are not returned and that workers’ breaks are cut. They also demand more security personnel in night services and special parties.

For its part, the Euskotren Public Society has regretted that the unions maintain the strikes, “despite the open negotiations with the social party.” In a statement, Euskotren has assured that it will guarantee the provision of 30% minimum servicesset by the Department of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government.
Euskotren has recalled that the strikes called will affect the services provided by the railway in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa; the train-bus to the Hospital de Usansolo and the Technological Park of Zamudio; Metro Line 3 in Bilbao; the Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz trams; the Larreineta funicular and the Larreineta-La Arboleda bus service, in Trapagaran (Bizkaia); and the buses managed for the Bizkaibus (Right Bank and Left Bank-Unibertsitatea) foral systems, in Bizkaia, and Lurraldebus (Debabarrena and Urola Kosta), in Gipuzkoa.
