Three police officers were arrested this Thursday morning by PSP on suspicion of drug trafficking, embezzlement and tax evasion. The three arrested belong to the PSP Rapid Response Teams in Porto.
The PSP conducted three house searches in accordance with arrest warrants outside the crime scene. Searches were carried out only in the homes of the three detained agents. However, additional measures were taken in the 3rd Criminal Investigation Department in Antash.
They are suspected of seizing drugs as a result of ongoing operations, which they then transferred to users and thus received information about drug traffickers: who they are and where they can be found. The purpose of “purchasing” information was to later be able to stop the sellers of the drug product.
The investigation is being conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (DIC). The PSP also ordered disciplinary proceedings against the detained police officers.
The suspects are due to appear in the criminal court of Porto only tomorrow. The search was accompanied by a judge.
