Tony Martinez (2), Taremi, Fran Navarro and Evanilson – in the first game of the day – showed this Saturday that Porto breathes health in pre-season when it comes to attack.
Martinez was the biggest star in the warm-up against Cardiff in the Algarve against a defensively fragile Welsh side.
The Spaniard took advantage of the two gifts to propel Porto forward, who have performed well in this pre-season. Even without the aforementioned midfield boost (Varela and Nico Gonzalez are on the way), Sergio Conceição’s team has shown all the superiority and efficiency in the confrontation with the championship team.
Only in defense there were some problems that allowed Diogo Costa to prove himself.
On the front, the good interaction between Martinez and Taremi worked great.
Fran Navarro stepped in and practically scored from the very first touch of the ball, taking advantage of an error on the contrary, after Taremi scored from the penalty spot.
Wolverhampton are next in line, on Tuesday, in Lagoa, a more serious test for the Porto players.
