At least one person was killed, two were missing and five were injured this Sunday in the partial collapse of a bridge in Patras, Greece. Rescue teams have begun searching among the rubble for possible victims or survivors, according to the emergency service in statements from the Greek TV channel MEGA.
According to the local press, Greek City Times, the wounded are currently being treated at the University Hospital of Rio and at the hospital in Agios Andreas.
Six ambulances and a medical unit, as well as about two dozen firefighters, are on the scene.
According to the same source, the bridge was being repaired due to structural problems and repairs were carried out piecemeal.
