Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad under Nuno Espirito Santo could be in jeopardy because of the Brazilian midfielder’s dogs. This is because the player has two French Bulldogs, the breed of which is banned in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi government considers this breed “aggressive and dangerous”. However, dogs are allowed if they are for hunting or to accompany the blind.
Fabinho, 29, who has already given his consent to the transfer, is prepared to turn down the offer if he does not receive the necessary documents to take the dogs, according to British press reports.
The decision could cost the Brazilian almost €500,000 a week, an amount that Al-Ittihad have described as the midfielder’s salary.
The club, which won the Saudi league last year, has already signed Portugal’s Jota and France’s N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema this season for the Ballon d’Or in 2022.
