The opposition returned this Friday to criticize the government’s decision on pensioners, speaking of cuts and rationing, but the finance minister said the most important thing is for the support to come in October.
In the parliamentary debate on the government’s proposal, which includes three measures to mitigate the effects of price increases, the one that received the most criticism was the one that sets a force for 2023 (increases between 3, 5 and 4.4%, below the expected inflation rate) and that involves paying emergency surcharge equivalent to half board until October.
“This time, take the reduction of pensions seriously: there is a pie that they have to give, they pay half the pie this year and half next, this is the rationing of pensions, they do not increase,” MP Nuno Carvalho criticized. Bench PSD.
