Portalegre GNR arrested on Tuesday a man suspected of committing a crime of domestic violence in Avis, Alentejo.
Due to episodes of aggression between the couple, law enforcement officials were called to the scene, who caught the aggressor red-handed, that is, at the very moment when he attacked his 44-year-old partner.
The detainee, also aged 44, “remained in the security premises until he appeared on the same day in the Fonteira judicial court, where he was subjected to a measure of compulsion in the form of a prohibition to approach the victim in any way, a prohibition to remain in the couple’s house and to approach him in within a radius of 500 meters, the frequency of the program for defendants in the context of domestic violence, and the obligation to report weekly to the police station in the area of residence,” as can be read in the GNR statement.
