The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) today detained two people for speculating in the sale of €500 tickets for the Candido de Oliveira Football Supercup to Benfica Porto in Aveiro.
Through its National Information and Criminal Investigation Unit (UNIIC), the ASAE said it had detained “two people for violating rules related to speculation and ticketing in the Cândido de Oliveira Supercup game” which started at 7:45 am. evenings.
This action resulted in the confiscation of 10 tickets, “with a nominal value between 15 and 35 euros, which were sold on the Internet, with an estimated total value of about 500 euros, which represents an undue advantage of high cost.”
According to the ASAE, the detainees have been notified and will appear before the judiciary.
The ASAE warns consumers that they should always buy tickets at their official value because if they do so for a higher amount, the sale “constitutes the crime of profiteering, punishable by 6 months to 3 years in prison and a fine of at least over 100 days.
