Lisbon Academic Week will take place in the Tagus Park, a space of over 100 hectares that hosted pilgrims and the Pope during World Youth Day. The event, which will take place in September, will again bring together thousands of young people from the WYD venue.
According to the newspaper Publicthe event will only take an area belonging to the municipality of Loures. The event will not occupy the entire enclosure, since the area of the altar stage, which led by the Lisbon City Council, will not be used.
Second Associação Académica de Lisboa President Diogo Martino Henriquez said the organizers of the event were attracted by the “better conditions” of the land in Sector B of Parque Tejo. The “flatter” terrain and “the landscape itself with the Vasco da Gama bridge in the background” led the organization to think it “would be the right place for the event”.
The organization then contacted Câmara de Loures, which partnered with the Associação Académica de Lisboa for the event, which will take place on 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30 September.
