The European Commission decided this Wednesday to transfer 135 million euros to the cooperation program with Ukraine and Moldova, which were part of the cooperation instrument with Russia and Belarus.
“The decision to cancel the originally planned cooperation with Russia and Belarus within the framework of interregional programs is the result of Russia’s brutal aggression against Ukraine,” said Elisa Ferreira, Portuguese commissioner for cohesion and reforms.
Elisa Ferreira added that the transfer of funds for cooperation programs with Ukraine and Moldova “will strengthen cooperation between the regions of the European Union.” [UE] and local partners with Ukrainian and Moldovan partners”.
