The 51-year-old man was arrested this Thursday evening on a rooftop as he prepared to commit a robbery, in Pracheta das Flores, in Amadora. The alarm was raised by the residents of the house, who understood what was happening and contacted the PSP.
One of the residents says he saw the man take the elevator to the 13th floor. Residents still tried to stop him, but at some point they lost sight of him.
The residents banded together and made their way to the building’s main entrance, while waiting for the police so that the suspect would be cornered and unable to escape.
The man noticed this and decided to go up to the roof to try to hide. There was a window that looked directly onto the roof, and the suspect walked through it. Even jumped into a nearby building to try and escape.
When the PSP arrived, the agents went around the entire building and noticed the scheme of the perpetrator. He was immediately arrested and will appear before a judge this Friday for his first trial in the Amadora Court.
There is a resident who later said she had already seen the man walking around the building that morning. The suspect was arrested and the PSP seized 435 euros in cash and a mobile phone. ABOUT cm found that the man is a foreigner and that he is denied entry into the Schengen area.
