A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempting to stab two people this Monday evening in Lagoa, Algarve.
According to judicial police, the man got into an argument with the owner of the cafe, who wanted to close the establishment, because of the refusal to serve drinks. Two buyers who witnessed the situation decided to intervene.
“During the shootout, they were stabbed in the chest, which threatened their lives and required hospitalization,” the statement sent to the news departments said.
After committing the crimes, the aggressor fled without providing assistance to the victims, and was subsequently discovered by the authorities.
The detainee will be present at the first judicial interrogation about the application of coercive measures.
