Autoeuropa’s plant in Palmela will suspend production from the first half of September due to a shortage of parts from a supplier severely affected by the August floods in Slovenia, the company said this Monday.
“At the heart of the problem is the lack of parts produced by a supplier in Slovenia that are necessary for the manufacture of engines,” the Volkswagen group company justified in a statement sent to workers this Monday, adding that the Slovenian supplier “was seriously affected by the flood that occurred in early August.”
A statement sent this Monday to workers at the Palmela car plant in Setúbal district, which Lusa had access to, did not include any projected date for the resumption of production.
