Traveling without children? Airline testing adult-only zone

airline Corendon Dutch Airlines launches an exclusive adult area. This pilot initiative will be implemented on A350 flights between Amsterdam and the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao starting November 3 this year.

The carrier explained that the area would be physically separated from the rest of the aircraft by “walls and curtains”, which would “create a protected environment that will promote a calm and relaxed flight.” The area will be located at the front of the aircraft and will be exclusively for passengers over 16 years of age and will have nine XL seats with extra legroom and 93 regular seats. Simple flight.

Booking a seat in the adult zone costs 45 euros in the regular zone and 100 euros in the XL zone.

“The introduction of an adult-only zone also has a positive effect on parents with children. They don’t have to worry so much about the possible reaction of other passengers if their child is a little busy or crying,” the airline explains. .

But Corendon Dutch Airlines it’s not the first airline to create an adults-only zone. Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary launched in 2012, offers passengers the option to sit in a ScootinSilence seat at the front of the aircraft, where children under 12 are not allowed. And the Japan Airlines booking system has a feature that indicates which seats on the plane will be occupied by babies under two years old.
