Tariffs on the regulated electricity market will increase by 3% as early as October 1, the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) announced yesterday as part of its quarterly price review.
In practice, a couple will pay an average monthly bill of 38.22 euros, which is 1.05 euros more than they paid before, representing an increase of 2.86 euros in the typical consumption of a couple with two children, whose expenses are 94. 97 euros per month. The escalation will affect the approximately 927,000 households that remain on the regulated market, but ERSE advises consumers to be aware of the liberalized supplier market conditions that often accompany these upgrades.
ERSE also justifies the increase in prices, which have hit energy markets “particularly affected by the conflict between Ukraine and Russia”, as already happened in April, when tariffs were also increased by 3%. However, it will eventually cut prices by 2.6% in July.
