River traffic between Lisbon and Barreiro will change tomorrow afternoon

The river connection between Lisbon and Barreiro in the district of Setúbal will be interrupted on Tuesday afternoon due to a plenary meeting of workers, Fectrans said this Monday.

In a statement, the Federation of Trade Unions for Transport and Telecommunications (Fectrans) claims that Soflusa workers will hold a plenary meeting from 13:55 to 15:55 on Tuesday with a cease-and-desist.

According to the trade union, “the purpose of the plenary session is to analyze the results of the conclusions reached by the working group, which included representatives of the management and trade unions, with the aim of unifying labor relations in Transtejo / Soflusa.”

However, according to the union structure, the plenary session was convened by Fectrans, Fluviais, the National Union of Railway Workers (SNTSF) and the Union of Merchant Marine Workers (SIMAMEVIP).

On its official website, Transtejo/Soflusa states that regular communication between Lisbon and Barreiro is expected to be interrupted “due to a plenary meeting convened by trade union organizations representing Soflusa workers”.

According to the company, the river connection with Barreiro will be interrupted from 12:55 to 16:40.

Of the ships scheduled between Barreiro and Lisbon, traffic will be interrupted from 12:55 to 16:15, and in the opposite direction from 13:25 to 16:40.

Soflusa is responsible for the crossing between Barreiro and Terreiro do Paso in Lisbon, while Transtejo connects Seixal, Montijo, Casillas and Trafaria/Porto Brandão in the Setúbal area with Lisbon.
