The SP said in a statement that “as part of an investigation carried out on the basis of a report from an international organization”, on Tuesday “a search was conducted in the Tavira area, culminating in the arrest of a suspect.” “.
After conducting a “computer search” on the suspect’s various equipment, the Judicial Panel identified “hundreds of videos/images containing underage pornography”, suspecting that some of this material may have been “distributed by third parties who have not yet been identified”.
During this operation, several devices were seized, namely a computer, mobile phones and flash drives.
“The investigation is ongoing to fully clarify the facts and identify other possible suspects, as well as to establish the circumstances of the accused’s possible involvement in the manufacture of some of the seized material while he was still living in his country of origin,” according to a statement from PJ.
This Wednesday, the detainee will be present before the competent judicial authorities for the first judicial interrogation and the application of coercive measures, which will be considered adequate, the security forces conclude.
