A woman died this Saturday in an accident on Estrada Nacional 332 in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Guarda district, a civil protection source told the Lusa agency.
According to the same source, a granite stone fell from a truck onto a car, killing one person.
According to him, death was “confirmed on the spot” by a doctor from the Guard’s ambulance and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER).
The road was closed to traffic in both directions.
The alarm was raised at 12:53 and 17 operatives were mobilized, supported by seven vehicles from the National Republican Guard (GNR), the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM) and the Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo fire department.
