Paulinho maintains the scoring streak that allowed him to stand out at the start of the season. This Saturday, in a preparatory game held at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy in Alcochete, he scored two goals in Sporting’s 4-0 victory over Mafra (II Liga). And he showed that he is one of the Portuguese forwards in the best form, after being excluded from Roberto Martinez’s plans when called up to the national team.
In a match essentially designed to maintain player rotation during the championship break, Sporting played a good game. The other two goals in Leon’s triumph were scored by Trincao and Nuno Santos.
In this preparatory game, Ruben Amorim used the following players: Adan (Diego Calai), Matheus Reis, Ricardo Esgayo, Fresneda, Luis Neto, Nuno Santos, Daniel Bragança, Pedro Gonçalves, Marcus Edwards and Paulinho.
Another Sporting striker, Viktor Giokeres, stood out for Sweden, scoring the first goal in a 5-0 win over Estonia in a European Championship qualifier.
