The price of electricity on the regulated market rose by 1.6% in January 2023 compared to January, with growth rising to 3.3% compared to the average for this year, which exceeds the values proposed in October, ERSE reported.
In a statement released this Thursday, ERSE — Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos says that “for customers who remain on the regulated market (representing 6.7% of total consumption and 941 thousand customers as of the end of October 2022) , or who, being on the free market, have chosen an equivalent tariff, the average annual change in transitional tariffs for sale to end consumers in normal low voltage (LLV) is 3.3%.
On the other hand, “the presented annual change is related to the average price of 2022, which includes the increase in the electricity tariff in April and October 2022, as well as the establishment of an exceptional tariff in July 2022”, and “as a result of these changes in the monthly perspective in January 2023, BTN clients on the regulated market will register an average increase of 1.6% relative to prices in effect in December 2022.”
