Rui Pinto said this Monday that he has “a lot to say” about the decision made by the court after he was sentenced to four years in prison with a suspended sentence in the “Football Leaks” case. Hacker also stated that there are aspects of the reading that he disagrees with and considers “unfounded.”
“I listened carefully to the summary of the verdict handed down today, and naturally there are things that I agree with, things that I don’t agree with, things that are appropriate and things that are not reasonable. I will have a lot to say about this decision, but not today. This is a chapter that is closing and the fight will continue,” the hacker wrote on X/Twitter.
The main defendant in the Football Leaks case was found guilty of one crime of extortion in the form of attempted murder of Doyen (two years in prison), three of aggravated breach of correspondence against lawyers João Medeiros, Rui Costa Pereira and Ines Almeida Costa (a total of one year and nine months) and five for illegal access to Doyen, Sporting, the Portuguese Football Federation, the law firm PLMJ and the Attorney General’s Office (partial sentences totaling seven years in prison), the rest dropped out due to the application of the amnesty law was approved as part of the Pope’s visit to Portugal and due to lack of evidence.
