The PSP Leiria District Command, through its private security unit, once again inspected several nightclubs in the Leiria district and identified a number of private security violations.
A police operation over the weekend led to the closure of a dance establishment in the municipality of Leiria.
In a press release, the Leiria District Command said it carried out an operation to inspect several food and drink establishments that have rooms or spaces dedicated to dancing or where people habitually dance.
During the action, violations were identified within the legal regime of private security systems of public catering establishments, as a result of which the establishment was temporarily closed.
“With this police operation, the Leiria District Command believes that it has strengthened public peace, reiterating that it will pay particular attention to this issue in order to increase the safety of all those who frequent such establishments.”
In recent months, the Leiria PSP has carried out several operations of this nature, resulting in the closure of one facility in Nazaré and another in Leiria.
