A plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a dirt road in Ovar this morning, Wednesday. The pilot left the maneuver unharmed.
Around 1:30 p.m., a warning was issued for a forced landing near the beach, between Cortegasa and Maceda. The emergency landing appears to have occurred due to mechanical failure. A 65-year-old pilot with 20 years of experience managed to fly the plane into an area without people or houses.
The plane is stopped near Cortegas’ camp. Porto’s maritime police, aviation authorities and the Esmoriz fire service are on the scene.
The Aviation and Rail Accident Prevention and Investigation Authority (GPIAAF) was called in to investigate the cause.
