The professional team Feirense will return to play at the Marcolino de Castro Stadium, following a legal agreement between the II Football League club and SAD, announced this Monday in an official statement.
The club confirmed that “it has been able to reach an agreement with Clube Desportivo Feirense – Futebol SAD, which protects the interests of the club and lifts the ban on SAD teams” from accessing and using the Marcolino Castro Stadium and sports complex.
The club’s management acknowledged in a statement that their “fight is in the interests of the club” and that today “once again” is all they have taken into account.
The dispute between the club and SAD came to a head in June last year when SAD’s senior, under-19 and under-18 teams were denied access to the stadium and training complex until the organization paid off a €700,000 debt accrued since 2018.
The II League team was not allowed to play its games at the Estadio Marcolino de Castro and used the Estadio Carlos Osorio of Oliveirense for its second round game against Penafiel and the Estadio Bessa in Porto for its fourth round game against Santa -Clara.
