Firefighters and Monsan PNP soldiers resumed search operations at 8:15 a.m. for a 68-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease who went missing at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Civil Defense reported.
In a conversation with the Lusa agency, a source from the sub-regional command of Alto Minho, she said that the device mobilized for the operation involves 13 operatives and six vehicles from the fire department and the GNP of Monsana, in the Viana do Castelo area. .
The same source added that the search by firefighters began on Wednesday at 16:57 and ended at 00:30.
On Wednesday, Monsan fire chief Jose Passos said the woman disappeared around 2 p.m. while she was with family members in Gandra town, Masedo parish.
“The woman was with family members who worked at a construction site. She disappeared, no one noticed. They started a search and at 16:40 they contacted civil protection,” he specified.
